Arm Swing
Knee Tuck
Ankle Sit
Draw Numbers
Jump Rope
Hand Shake
Tongue Stretch
Here are the descriptions. Actually do these as a class.
+ Swing your relaxed arms in large circles, one at a time.
+ Lie on your back and tuck in your knees, holding them to your chest with your hands. Roll gently from side to side. Do this 10 times.
+ Sit on your ankles, keeping your back straight. Stretch up, with your arms extended, as high as you can go. Keep your body straight. Do this 4 times.
+ Use your entire body to draw huge numbers, from one to ten, in the air. Use as much space as you can. Bend, stretch, and travel around the room as you write. Do this for about 3 minutes.
+ Play imaginary jump rope. By yourself or with two partners. You might want to try using a few different rhythms, changing your jumping pattern accordingly alternating feet together and feet apart, and so on.
+ Lie on your back and then extend your entire lower body into a shoulder stand, placing your hands on your back and your elbows on the floor. Stay in this position for a count of twenty. Next, roll your legs back and over your head, letting your feet drop to the floor. Keep your legs straight. Only go back as far as is comfortable. Then unwind until you are flat on your back again. Repeat.
+ Stand with your feet slightly apart. Begin to shake your hands. Shake them more and more vigorously. When your teacher yells, “freeze” stop all movement. Then begin to tense the same muscles in your hand. Repeat this exercise several times. Be sure to stop shaking the moment you hear “freeze.”
+ Stretch your tongue. Try to touch the tip of your tongue to your nose. Don’t be discouraged if you can’t do it-only one in 1000 people can. It’s the stretch, not the parlor trick that counts. Repeat.
